John Blacket has had extensive experience as a senior manager in the
tourism industry as General Manager of several prestigious off-shore
resort islands in Fiji as well as Couran Cove Resort, a world leading
Eco-tourism project on South Stradbroke Island in Queensland. Graduated
from Adelaide University, his academic qualifications in Economics and
his commitment to environmental best practice and sustainable tourism
has allowed him to successfully integrate resort management and
environmental systems to ensure minimization of resort/hotel capital and
operating costs. As a member of the Australian Defence Forces, he served
with the Royal Australian Engineers (21 Construction Sqn) in Sabah from
1965-1967 during confrontation and was based in the Sook Valley.
